CLASS OF 2010  SIGNEES

DOMINIQUE BUCKLEY

6-2, 200, GUARD

ROMULUS (MI) HS / IOWA ST UNIVERSITY

Transfer from Iowa State University who will have to sit out the 2010-11 season and will then have two years of eligibility. Buckley played in 27 games last year for the Cyclones and averaged 1.4 points and 0.9 assists. He also shot 40.9 percent (9-of-22) from three-point range in 7.4 minutes per contest.

At Romulus High School where he was ranked as the 124th-best player in the country according to ESPN 150 rankings. A member of the Detroit Free Press Dream Team and an AP First-Team All-State selection, he led the Eagles to a 22-4 record and a state semifinal appearance as a senior after averaging 15.2 points, 6.3 assists, 5.6 rebounds and 2.6 steals per game. As a junior, was second-team Class A all-state after tallying 14.4 points, 6.3 assists, 4.8 rebounds and 2.4 steals per game.

REESE HOLLIDAY

6-3, 205, GUARD/FORWARD

KANSAS CITY (KS) SUMNER ACADEMY

Led Sumner to the Class 4A state title as a senior and was the tournament MVP. He dominated at the state tournament, averaging 17.7 points and 13.7 rebounds.

Holliday averaged 23.8 points and 11.3 rebounds a game playing on the wing and inside, and average 4.1 assists and 1.5 steals a game. Shot 66% from the field.  Averaged 19 points, 11 rebounds and four assists as a junior.

Won first team all-state honors as a senior.

RIAN PEARSON

6-3, 190, FORWARD

RAYTOWN (MO) SOUTH HS / UWGB

Transfer from Wisconsin-Green Bay. Will have to sit out the 2010-11 season and will then have three years of eligibility. Pearson averaged 6.4 points and 2.7 rebounds in 16.5 minutes per game. He came on strong at the end of the year, averaging 11.3 points and 4.9 boards over the last seven games at UWGB.

Selected to the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association Class 5 all-state team after his senior season. Also named to the Missouri Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association Class 5 all-state second team. Averaged 23.0 points and 8.8 rebounds per game in his final year at Raytown South. Had a team-high 21 points to lead Missouri to victory in the 2009 Kansas vs. Missouri High School All-Star Challenge.  

MATT SMITH

6-7, 210, FORWARD

WHITEWRIGHT (TX) HS / UWGB

Transfer from Wisconsin-Green Bay. Will have to sit out the 2010-11 season and will then have three years of eligibility. Smith started 34 of 35 games for UWGB last year, averaging 3.2 points and 2.1 rebounds in 11.9 minutes per contest. He scored a career-high 13 points in 16 minutes against UW-Milwaukee.

Averaged 19.8 points, 10.9 rebounds and 2.5 blocked shots per game as a junior for Whitewright High School. Was a member of the 2007 Texas all-state team as well as an all-region selection. Two-time district Most Valuable Player. Helped lead the Red Raiders to a 30-win season and a berth in the Class 2A state semifinals as a sophomore. As a freshman, was named District 15-2A Newcomer of the Year.  

DELINO DEAR

6-9, 210 CENTER

MT CARMEL (IL) HS / PROGRESSIVE (MD) CHRISTIAN ACADEMY

A Chicago, IL native, Dear attended Progressive Christian Academy in Camp Springs, MD this past year where he averaged 16.0 points, eight rebounds and two blocked shots per game.

In his senior campaign at Mt. Carmel High School in the Chicago Catholic League, he averaged eight points, eight rebounds and two blocks per contest. Dear also was a part of the Caravans' Super Sectional squad as a junior that advanced to the Elite Eight of the Illinois Class 4A Tournament.

ANTHONY WRIGHT

6-6, 235 FORWARD

OAK HILL (VA) ACADEMY / UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN

Transfer from the University of Michigan where he graduated this year. Will have one year of eligibility as a graduate student.

His final season at Michigan, Wright played 241 minutes averaging 1.4 points and 1.1 rebounds per game.

As a senior at Oak Hill, averaged 9.0 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.0 steals ... Shot 56 percent from the field, 39 percent on three-point field goals and 72 percent on free throws . Led Oak Hill to 40-1 record ... Became a full-time starter midway through season, starting final 17 games .

J. T. THOMAS

6-1, 180 GUARD

EDNA KARR (LA) HS / IMG (FL) ACADEMY

Thomas attended the IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL this past year where he averaged 18.0 points, seven rebounds and four assists per game. He played in just 16 contests after breaking his foot in September.

Thomas averaged 18.0 points and six assists per game as senior at Edna Karr High School.

RYAN MAJERLE

6-4 , GUARD

ROCKFORD (MI) HS

Majerle averaged 16.0 points and 4.5 rebounds per game last season and helped lead Rockford to its third-straight Class A district title. He shot 85 percent from the free-throw line and 40 percent from 3-point range.
